spa

this was one of the most elaborated birthday parties I’ve seen in a long time. The house was transformed into a spa for 35 girls!!! There were little stations for everything – manicure, pedicure, make up and hair. They had a blast! it was amazing!!! Happy birthday Nathalia!!

american girl

to say that I’m in big trouble bringing them into this store is an understatement!! but what can I do? We were there to celebrate Julia’s birthday. They had a great time! Lunch at the bistro and shopping. It doesn’t sound like a kid birthday anymore!!

:: four people :: twelve times :: 04.10 ::

this month was gone too fast! It seems like I didn’t do anything and it’s over already.

we spent a lot of time fixing our patio. With the construction came a huge mess and mud, so we had to get sod, some plants and more. Gardening is not something I’m good at. All the digging and selecting plants are really hard for me. Top that with my allergies, especially to grass, you can see why the backyard is always plain!

We took the girls to see Giada De Laurentiis (from Food Network) at a book signing. I can assure you I’m not any kind of celebrity stalker!!! I do watch Food N. sometimes and my girls like it to. Isabela used to prefer it over cartoons! not anymore. She loves food. We thought she might enjoy meeting her in person. She was really excited at first but shy when she got close. Carolina was the one that talked to her a little. But those things are too fast, with lots of people waiting. Giada signed the book to Isabela and said she would come see her when she has her restaurant! (that’s Isabela’s idea!)

we went to the mall one of these days, not sure why, all 4 of us. Parked close to the sears entrance, passing by the shoes, Carolina saw the converse tennis shoes that she’s been asking for. Apparently most of the girls in her class are wearing those. I remember it when I was a kid and I never thought those were comfortable. But she wanted one. So, she choses a pink one and Isabela wants a sandal, almost like a high heel. They don’t need shoes so we said we’d think about it and maybe get it on the way out. I said they had to ask dad! usually I buy all their clothes, so they always come to me. They manage to convince him. We stopped by there again, the 3 of them chose the shoes, tried it on and dad bought it. Carolina was so happy! then she looks at me and says out loud “thank you mommy”!!!
Andre looked at her like “what??” I had to laugh!!!

Isabela had her music program at school. She had a small singing part that I didn’t know about! She was great! Carolina was asking if she was nervous but she was fine and really enjoyed it. The theme was “it sounds a little fishy to me” and her class represented the sharks. She did all the dancing and singing and even pretended to play guitar. She liked being on stage. And I’m amazed with her music teacher, and how she can do all that with five 1st grade classes together!

The girls had dentist appointments this month – just their regular check up. Br Dr Kelly told Isabela she has a loose tooth. She had not noticed that yet but she quickly became obsessed with it! She has been waiting for it! and the questions never ended… what if when will it come out? could I swallow it? can it come out when I’m sleeping? She talked about it a lot! it was cute!

launched my new web site and new blog. (this one!) This was long overdue. I love how it turned out, the full screen galleries and the new blog. A huge thanks to Andre for doing most of the work and putting up with all my ideas! I couldn’t have it done without you.

If you are still checking the typepad blog, update your bookmarks to this one. and let me know what you think!

Carolina had the Taks test at the end of the month. I’m so tankful that my girls enjoy school so much. She is kinda like me, it’s a test, let’s do it and get over with it! she does not worry to much. But she did complain that it was boring. They don’t do anything on test day, no recess, no specials, nothing. She came home and wanted to go ride her bike to “spend her energy”!!! She was running outside all afternoon!! And believe me, she has a lot of energy!

We still have tons of chocolate from easter, which seems to be Carolina’s favorite holiday! Seriously!

happy as can be!

she couldn’t wait for it – I’m pretty sure she is the only 7yo I know who had not lost a single tooth yet! Two weeks ago she had a routine dentist appointment and Dr Kelly told her that she had a loose tooth.
OH my!!! two long weeks! she was completely obsessed with her tooth, when will it come out? could I swallow it? can it come out when I’m sleeping? Really! the questions never ended, with a mix of excitement and anxiety! it was too funny and cute!
So tonight while she was brushing her teeth, it came out!!!! finally!!! She was “happy as can be” (her words)

Here she is, holding her tooth and the little tooth fairy! now off to bed! I can still hear the conversations, wondering how much money she will get!!
